YOGA FOR DOGS WITH NALA

Join Nala for an invigorating Yoga class with your dog. Participants will begin will a meditative walk followed by 50 minutes of Yoga. We will wind down with practices to soothe ourselves and our dogs.

Session Fee: Donation ( Donations will be used to purchase food for the Trenton Animal Shelter )

Dogs must be 6 months or older and have all vaccinations.

A 10 day early morning Yoga intensive.  Every morning after the Yoga class, the group will chant the 4th Chapter of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.  Classes meet from 5:30 - 7:00 AM Monday - Friday for two consecutive weeks.  No experience necessary.  Space is limited.

During this 9 day intensive, we will gather every morning to practice Yoga and we will study the third chapter of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is the classic text of Yoga theory and practice. It is a manual for transcending all artificial notions of self and the universe we live in.

No previous experience is necessary.  Previous knowledge of the Yoga Sutras is not required.

The King of All Yoga Postures - Headstand

Mastering the headstand requires no great strength. It is largely a matter of conquering fear and believing you can do it.

The headstand (sirshasana in Sanskrit) is also called the king of asanas as the posture has so many benefits for your body and mind. By reversing the normal effects of gravity, it rests the heart, aids circulation and relieves pressure on the lower back. A regular headstand practice helps to prevent back problems and improves memory and concentration. Inverting the body also deepens the breath, bringing a fresh supply of oxygen-rich blood to the brain.

Bhujangasana ( Cobra ) Dhanurasana ( Bow ) Shalabasana ( Locust ) Ustrasana ( Camel ) Matsyasana ( Fish ) are all backward bending postures.  Many people find these postures some of the most challenging.
